5 Steps to Better Mental Wellbeing

1. Schedule It.

Schedule self care like you’d schedule a meeting.

None of us can live well without mental wellness. ‘Self-care’ can be an overused buzzword.
However walks, a bath, taking a break, identifying emotions are all inexpensive yet valuable approaches to improving our mental quality of life.

2. Routinely take a break from ‘the noise’.

It’s good to take ten minutes away from your phone. Meditation, breath work and mindfulness work for some. For others a walk around the block, or lying down might work better. It’s safe to say with the pandemic, most of us have felt overloaded at some stage. Give yourself regular breaks from it all.

3. Face facts.

How are you really?

What’s bothering you?

What do you need?

What are you avoiding?

What can you do to help yourself?

4. Strategy.

Plan a check-in with yourself regularly.
Add it to your calendar and become your own accountability buddy.

Keep an eye on yourself just like you would a loved one. Treat yourself how you would a dear friend.

5. Observe Yourself.

Observe your thoughts, you are not the thinker - you’re the observer.

Every experience is different, sometimes you might have energy to help others, sometimes not even enough to help yourself. Observe where you are and be mindful about it. The reason this all feels hard, is because it is hard. Take care.
